MANGO has implemented an in-store garment recycling project in collaboration with KOOPERA (a cooperative promoted by Caritas). MANGO has placed in-store garment collection boxes in 80 national stores throughout Spain and 17 in Europe including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
All clothing and footwear collected is processed at KOOPERA’s recycling plant located in Bilbao, Spain. All garments collected there are classified into more than 50 categories in order to ensure they all receive a second chance. Garments are classified according to their composition and condition in order to:
Be recycled into raw materials
Be up-cycled for new functions as car mats or insulation
Be treated in order to create energy
This way 100% of all clothing and footwear collected in MANGO’s SECOND CHANCES take-back boxes is given a new life.
Find your nearest SECOND CHANCES take-back box and give your used clothes and footwear a second chance.
You will be collaborating to close the loop of textile waste and contributing to the social and employment reintegration of people at risk of social exclusion through KOOPERA.
